# Seychelles Joins ARIPO – Harare Protocol

With effect from 1 January 2022, Seychelles will become a member of ARIPO.

Seychelles deposited its Instrument of Accession to ARIPO on the 26 August 2021 for the Harare Protocol. Seychelles becomes the 19th member state party to the Harare Protocol (patents, industrial designs and utility models).

It will therefore be possible to designate Seychelles in an ARIPO patent, industrial design or utility model application filed on or after 1 January 2022.

Seychelles is also a PCT Contracting State.
