# OAPI: electronic filing of trade mark applications

The OAPI e-filing system for trade marks began on 3 June 2024.

The new system covers trade mark searches, filings, renewals, recordals and oppositions. Company name registrations and objections will be included in due course, but patents will not be covered in this phase of the project.

It is important to note that, although it will be possible to file trade mark applications electronically, hard copies of digital supporting documents will still need to be submitted to complete the process.
